The Middle East is a region where cars and truck is king and fuel is inexpensive, little reward to find more environmentally-friendly methods of moving.

But this year, as protests across the Middle East have actually pushed up the price of oil, the problem of finding alternative sources of fuel has actually entered into sharp focus.

In an area that has one of the greatest carbon footprints in the world, one organization is taking advantage of the growing pressure to find alternatives to oil. It's established the Middle East's first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving profitable too, already their client-list includes McDonald's.
