    Wage & Hour Rights and Responsibilities

    Wage Payment: Employee rights consist of:- Pay for all earnings earned (INFO # 3) at the rate accepted by the employer and worker.
    - Pay of at least minimum wage (INFO # 1), the relevant Colorado or local minimum wage, and all earned overtime earnings without impermissible reductions from their incomes;.
    - Pay of all made earnings without impermissible reductions (INFO # 16).


    Labor Statutes, Rules, & Published Guidance

    Statutes & Rules: DLSS imposes much of Colorado's wage and hour and other types of labor statutes and labor guidelines, including the Colorado Wage Act, the Colorado Overtime and Minimum Pay Standards (" COMPS Order"), and the Equal Spend For Equal Work Act. Please go to the Division's Labor Statutes and Labor Rules websites for present and prior versions of key Colorado labor statutes and guidelines.
    Published Guidance: The Division's primary kinds of public guidance are:- INFOs (Interpretive Notices and Formal Opinions) - the Division's formally authorized notices, opinions, and explanations on different labor law subjects; and.
    - KNOWLEDGEs (Knowledge for Workers on Labor Law is Empowering & Drives Good Employment) one-page summaries for staff members on their labor rights.


    Written Demands, Complaints, & Investigations

    Demands & Complaints for Wages: If an employer owes you earnings, you can send your company a composed need for payment of wages by mail, email, text message, or other electronic ways. A written demand may be sent to the at the exact same time a Labor Standards Complaint Form for unpaid incomes is filed with the Division. The Labor Standards Complaint Form can be discovered on our Demands, Complaints, Responses, and Settlements web page.
    Employer Responses in Investigations: Once a complete Labor Standards Complaint Form is received and reviewed, a letter describing the nature of the problem and the quantities declared to be owed is sent out to the employer. For more details about the investigation procedure, please evaluate the Wage & Hour Claim Investigations - Employer FAQs website.
    Investigations Launched by the Division (" Direct Investigations"): The Division might carry out employer-wide direct investigations of potential infractions of Colorado wage and hour law. If you want to send a pointer, please email the Division at cdle_di_tips@state.co.us. If you would like to file a specific claim for unsettled wages, you must submit a Labor Standards Complaint Form on our Demands, Complaints, Responses, and Settlements webpage. To appeal a direct examination citation or one or more Notices of Assessment, a supposed employer may submit a Direct Investigation Appeal Form.
