    Wage & Hour Rights and Responsibilities

    Wage Payment: Employee rights include:- Pay for all salaries earned (INFO # 3) at the rate consented to by the company and worker.
    - Pay of a minimum of base pay (INFO # 1), the appropriate Colorado or local base pay, and all earned overtime salaries without impermissible reductions from their wages;.
    - Pay of all earned salaries without impermissible deductions (INFO # 16).


    Labor Statutes, Rules, & Published Guidance

    Statutes & Rules: DLSS enforces much of Colorado's wage and employment hour and other kinds of labor statutes and labor guidelines, including the Colorado Wage Act, the Colorado Overtime and Minimum Pay Standards (" COMPS Order"), and the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. Please check out the Division's Labor Statutes and Labor Rules webpages for present and prior versions of essential Colorado labor employment statutes and rules.
    Published Guidance: The Division's primary kinds of public guidance are:- INFOs (Interpretive Notices and Formal Opinions) - the Division's formally approved notifications, viewpoints, and explanations on various labor law subjects; and.
    - KNOWLEDGEs (Knowledge for Workers on Labor Law is Empowering & Drives Good Employment) one-page summaries for workers on their labor employment rights.


    Written Demands, Complaints, & Investigations

    Demands & Complaints for Wages: If an employer owes you wages, employment you can send your company a composed need for employment payment of salaries by mail, e-mail, text message, or other electronic methods. A written need might be sent out to the company at the very same time a Labor Standards Complaint Form for unsettled wages is submitted with the Division. The Labor Standards Complaint Form can be found on our Demands, Complaints, Responses, and Settlements webpage.
    Employer Responses in Investigations: Once a total Labor Standards Complaint Form is gotten and examined, a letter explaining the nature of the problem and the quantities alleged to be owed is sent to the employer.     Investigations Launched by the Division (" Direct Investigations"): The Division may perform employer-wide direct examinations of potential violations of Colorado wage and hour law. If you would like to submit a pointer, please email the Division at cdle_di_tips@state.co.us. If you want to file a private claim for overdue wages, you need to fill out a Labor Standards Complaint Form on our Demands, Complaints, Responses, and Settlements webpage. To appeal a direct investigation citation or several Notices of Assessment, a supposed company may send a Direct Investigation Appeal Form.
